This weekend we were able to gather at Bjorliheimen mountain hotel. The title of the weekend's camp was "Bible, song and nature", and we got plenty of all three parts. People came from far and wide to gather about God's Word. The majority of the participants were retirees, but the youngest who came by was 2 years old. It's nice to be able to gather across generations.
Kristian Fagerli was a speaker and preached the Word from heart to heart. On Friday we were reminded to look at the details of creation that remind us of a greater meaning. On Saturday he spoke about lifting our eyes to Golgotha, and about the fields that are white for the harvest. On Saturday evening we had a sharing evening, and we witnessed to each other through song, Bible verses and prayer topics. On Sunday he spoke about the signs of the end times and that our redemption is near.
Hannah, Marianne and Torgrim were there throughout the weekend singing. And on Saturday we were lucky enough to hear Annbjørg Helland Sævareid who communicated through poetry and song. Aud Irene and Arnvid provided solid accompaniment to the music. And Olav led us steadily through the meetings. Arild also informed about Misjon Sarepta, Centro Sarepta and the takeover of Bjorliheimen Fjellhotell.
On Saturday, the fittest hiked up Kongelberget (1176 m). The view was amazing in beautiful nature with the autumn colors on. Another group went for a nice walk on flat ground and had a snack at Bøverfossen. Several chose to go for a walk in the surrounding area.
The conversation flowed well around the dining table and on the sofa between programs. The kitchen at Bjorliheimen did a fantastic job with good food throughout the weekend.
The camp was the first camp after Misjon Sarepta took over Bjorliheimen. We were excited to see how many people came, and were grateful that there were over 80 registered! It bodes well for the further work.
Thank you for a weekend filled with Bible, song and nature!
